                                            THE PRESS CONFERENCE IN DETAIL
Right then, the manager is ready to talk so lets see what`s up for discussion at the moment....

Johnny Evans is available again this week like earlier stated after his match ban and Van Gaal said: "I have defended him and I still defend him, so I dont punish him.''

Following Luke Shaw's return to action last week, the manager said: "He played very well against Chelsea, but I believe in Luke, so for me his perfomance is not a big surprise.

Talks turns to the transfer window, with reports asking about the team's links with Memphis Depay, but Van Gaal insists: "I dont discuss it (transfers) with the media. you know my answer. I have a lot of relationships with players. I cannot buy all the players I have coached already."

On Van Persie's fitness the manager said: "He has to train very hard to play in the second team. He has to show his qualities again. Then i have to compare him with the positions he can play, with the players that play in that position, its always like the same."

With Fellaini returning to his old club this weekend, Van Gaal said: "I have spoken with him. Marouane is always dry with his answers, he said it is a game, but it is special for him. I hope the fans give him the same reception Juan Mata received at Chelsea (last week)."

The Red Devils are third in the league, which would be good for a champions league spot, and he said: "I'm always at a club to be a champion, but when we reach our goal we are happy."

On the teams's unfortunate defeat to chelsea last week, Van Gaal insists, "the result was the only thing that was not going my way, and of course finishing the chances.  That is what counts in football. It is not counting the performances. When you win in sport, you can do everything. I think it is not only performances but results that count. "

Thats it all from a brief Van Gaal today. Untill the weekends football results from different leagues around the world, thank for finding interest. goodbye.

Arsenal Boss Eyes Summer Clear-outs

The midfield trios' contracts are set to expire at the end of the season and it is understood the Gunners are planning for life without them, claim the  London Evening Standard . All three midfielders have been bit-part players this season with Arsene Wenger believed to be having concerns over their fitness and consistency to perform at a high level.  Rosicky, who turnt 35 last month, is expected to be sidelined until after Christmas following knee surgery and has failed to play a single minute of first-team football.  The Czech was set to leave the Gunners last summer but Arsenal invoked a clause in his previous contract to keep him at the Emirates for a further 12 months.  By leaving Arsenal, this will allow Rosicky to finish his career with his first club Sparta Prague - which he is open to.  The same can be said for Flamini as there are those who believe his best days are behind him too, with the poor performance in the Capital One Cup exit...

Euros Disappointments a lesson for Martial, says Deschamps

France coach Didier Deschamps believes Anthony Martial is a revitalised player after looking "exhausted" at Euro 2016. Following a fine first season in the Premier League with Manchester United, in which he scored 11 goals in 31 appearances, Martial failed to have much of an impact on France's run to the final on home soil. The 20-year-old played just 69 minutes across three matches, but opened the scoring in France's 3-1 friendly victory over Italy in Bari on Thursday for his first senior international goal. And Deschamps, attempting to lead France's recovery after their final defeat to Portugal in July, reckons a refreshed Martial will learn lessons from his Euros disappointment. "He was expecting more from the Euros and I was too," Deschamps said. "But, things were difficult. He has to learn from this to progress.  "He was the first to say he was not satisfied. Deschamps continued: "He arrived there exhausted because he had a very l...
