Depay Behaves Like A "Peruvian pan flute player" - Co Adriaanse.

The Manchester United star has been criticised for his behaviour and warned he must get his head down and begin working for the team if he is to be a success
Manchester United's Memphis Depay must focus on being a footballer instead of a "Peruvian pan flute player", according to former Twente coach Co Adriaanse.

Memphis moved to Old Trafford after winning the Eredivisie with PSV Eindhoven as the league's top scorer last season, but was left on the bench during Saturday's 3-0 victory over Everton after only managing to net once in the Premier League so far.

And Adriaanse has joined in the chorus of voices that the starlet is too arrogant for his own good, ridiculing his prima-donna behaviour and stating that Depay has to start behaving in a more grounded fashion if he is to succeed.

"He needs to be corrected," the 68-year-old told Studio Voetbal. "He must realise that he is a member in a football team, that he is not just an individual, a 100 metre sprinter like Usain Bolt.

"He arrived as a Peruvian pan flute player at [Netherlands team hotel] Huis ter Duin. If you are a young boy and still have not done anything, do not play dress up as you report to the coach. [Cristiano] Ronaldo does that, but at least he is proven. "

"He does not even talk to the press, which he ignores. That cannot be the way. He represents us, the Dutch people. And we want to know what he thinks. He should always speak to them, and must be corrected."

Depay has come under close scrutiny in the Dutch media in recent weeks, after starting every game for the Netherlands but failing to make an impact during their disastrous Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.
