Reasons David Moyes Isn't Messiah For Aston Villa

Why David Moyes might NOT be the man for Aston Villa

Former Manchester United Boss David Moyes is reported to be keen on taking charge of Aston Villa should Tim Sherwood pay for his side's struggles at the start of this season with his job.

But any Villa fans wanting to see Sherwood out and Moyes in may want to take a closer look at Real Sociedad's poor early-season form.

Sociedad lost at home to Atletico Madrid on Sunday with Antoine Griezmann and Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco on target, leaving Moyes's side with just one win from their first eight games.

The Basque side are level on points with 18th-placed Levante with only a superior goal difference keeping them out of the bottom three in La Liga.

Sociedad have been strong at the back this season but have scored just six goals - only Malaga (three) and Granada (five) have found the net on fewer occasions.

And with the likes of surprise package Celta Vigo, Sevilla and Barcelona all to come over the next five league games, the pressure on Moyes is unlikely to ease off.

In fact, Moyes has scraped together just 11 wins in his 38 games in charge of Sociedad since taking over in November 2014 - a lower pecentage of games won than Sherwood since he replaced Paul Lambert in February 2015 - though Villa have lost 15 games under the former Spurs boss.

Arsenal Boss Eyes Summer Clear-outs

The midfield trios' contracts are set to expire at the end of the season and it is understood the Gunners are planning for life without them, claim the  London Evening Standard . All three midfielders have been bit-part players this season with Arsene Wenger believed to be having concerns over their fitness and consistency to perform at a high level.  Rosicky, who turnt 35 last month, is expected to be sidelined until after Christmas following knee surgery and has failed to play a single minute of first-team football.  The Czech was set to leave the Gunners last summer but Arsenal invoked a clause in his previous contract to keep him at the Emirates for a further 12 months.  By leaving Arsenal, this will allow Rosicky to finish his career with his first club Sparta Prague - which he is open to.  The same can be said for Flamini as there are those who believe his best days are behind him too, with the poor performance in the Capital One Cup exit...

Mourinho And Pulis West Bromwich Albion head coach Tony Pulis has questioned who will benefit from the £50,000 fine that has been handed to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho. After his seven-minute outburst in the aftermath of his side's 3-1 defeat to Southampton, Mourinho has been fined the five-figure sum by the Football Association, as well as been given a suspended one-match stadium ban. However, Pulis has described the amount as "extraordinary", and called for greater transparency regarding where the money will be used. The 57-year-old told reporters: "I think we need to have a meeting to find out what is going on or isn't going on. A fine of £50,000 is an extraordinary amount of money. I have been fined a few times by the FA for stepping out of line, but my argument is where does that money go? "Does it go to charity? Does it go to the hundreds and hundreds of people who will jump on the back of the Eurostar? Where does that m...
