The new Liverpool boss saw his side draw 0-0 at White Hart Lane in his maiden game in charge, though his side are already working far harded and even out-ran super-fit Tottenham
Jurgen Klopp is well known for his famous gegenpressing style, and that high-intensity approach already appears to be taking root after just a few days of training at Liverpool. The Reds ran considerable further and much harder than they did in their final game under Brendan Rodgers, covering more ground, completing more sprints and generally playing with far more intensity, even if it did dip after a furious first 20 minutes, as they became the first team to out-run Tottenham this season.
Liverpool ran 14km more than they did in the Merseyside derby, Rodgers's final match in charge, and completed an astonishing 112 more sprints (> 25.2 km/h) according to Opta.
That means the injury-hit Reds ran 13 per cent further than they did under Rodgers, and made a whopping 22% more sprints than they did against Everton.
James Milner ran the furthest of any Liverpool player in both games, though clocked up nearly a kilometre more than he did at Goodison Park, while Martin Skrtel covered the least difference (9.77km), a figure that was still higher than all but TWO players managed against Everton!
