Barcelona transfer was not transparent: Santos president denounces Neymar

 Santos president denounces Neymar
Santos president Modesto Roma Junior denounced Neymar and his transfer to Barcelona, calling on Fifa to investigate details of the transaction.
The financial arrangements surrounding the Brazil captain's move from Santos to Barcelona in 2013 came under investigation after a club member asked for full details of the striker's signing to be published, which in turn revealed an apparent misappropriation of funds in the deal.
The Camp Nou outfit have faced a lengthy legal battle since that has led to the resignation of Sandro Rosell from his position as president of the Catalan side in January 2014, with current head Josep Maria Bartomeu - only re-elected to his post this summer - likewise dragged into the scandal.
And despite confirming Neymar is still revered at Santos for firing them to three consecutive Campeonato Paulista titles - a feat not achieved since the era of Pele - and the Copa Libertadores trophy in 2011, Roma Jr revealed that the Brazilian club filed a lawsuit with Fifa five months ago.
"I filed the case in May," he told Cope Catalunya. "Despite being an idol, we denounce Neymar because there are things in which we disagree.
"In the transfer, things were not done in a clear and transparent manner. The court and the Spanish prosecutor have proven it, as have the Brazilian courts.
"It is our understanding that Fifa must be involved in the administrative discussion. There are things that are not right and Fifa should investigate."
According to reports in Brazil, Santos claim that Neymar breached Article 17 of Fifa transfer rules regarding the consequences of terminating a contract without due cause, with punishment for the offence carrying a ban of up to six months.
The developing situation threatens to tarnish Barcelona's off-the-field reputation even further, given last term's treble winners have already been slapped with a transfer ban untill January.
Meanwhile, Spanish courts have opened new investigations into possible tax fraud committed by Lionel Messi despite the player and club's protests he is innocent.

Vardy: It Was Easy To Reject Arenal Move

Jamie Vardy says it was easy for him to reject a move to Arsenal, insisting both his head and his heart told him to stay at Leicester City. After playing a crucial role in last season's surprising Premier League title win, the England international was the subject of a bid from the Gunners which triggered his £22 million release clause. Instead, the striker opted to remain at the King Power Stadium and signed a new deal with the Foxes. And Vardy, 29, says it was an easy decision to make. “I was in a hotel room [in Chantilly] for so many hours of every day with nothing to do. You had a lot of time on your hands," he told The Guardian . “I am not going to beat around the bush – every time I thought about it, and every aspect of it I thought about, both my head and my heart were saying to stay at Leicester, which is why I made my decision to stay. “There were loads of reasons. You get that much time to think about, every single thing down to the tea lady. You think about w...
