Fabregas Salutes Captain John Terry

john terry signs new deal
The Blues captain will remain at Stamford Bridge for another season and the Spain international says he is impressed by the defender's loyalty to the west Londoners.

Cesc Fabregas has paid a glowing tribute to his captain John Terry, who has announced that he will stay at Chelsea after months of speculation linking him away from Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have confirmed the club captain has signed a new one-year deal to stay at the club he joined as a 14-year-old, having made 703 appearances and won 14 major trophies since his debut in 1998.
Fabregas has worked with Terry for two seasons after joining from Barcelona in 2014 for a fee in the region of £26m and is happy to continue to play alongside the former England captain.
"He has had a fantastic career for Chelsea. It is not easy nowadays to start your career somewhere and finish it [at the same club]," Fabregas told Goal."Very, very few players can say that, especially nowadays when everything is so tough and everyone demands so much from you and he has dealt with it very, very well and won a lot of trophies so it is very good from him."
Fans began to protest the club's decision to not initially offer Terry a new deal after Chelsea's 5-1 FA Cup win against MK Dons in January.
The 35-year-old is thought to have turned down a big money Chinese Super League move having been offered a reduced wage and only one more year at Chelsea - which is standard policy at the former Premier League champions given his age.

However, the club announced on Wednesday morning that Terry would be staying after consultation with the incoming manager Antonio Conte.

Klopp An Unlucky Man In Cup Finals

Jurgen Klopp said he has never been on the lucky side of a wrong decision in a final after his Liverpool team lost 3-1 to Sevilla in the Europa League final on Wednesday. In his post-match news conference, Klopp was asked by a German reporter for his thoughts on Andujar Coke's second goal after the referee overruled his linesman on an offside call. Replays later showed that the ball had clearly come off Philippe Coutinho into the attacker's path but Klopp said it was the first time had ever seen a referee overrule his linesman. "I've had a lot of games as a coach but it is not that often that a referee overrules the linesman," the German said. "But right after the match someone said it was the right decision because Coutinho has played the pass." Klopp said he felt like he never had luck in finals, having seen at least two penalty appeals waved away in the first half. "You speak German so I guess you've seen some finals...
