 Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney finally got back on the scoresheet as his decisive goal improved the mood at Old Trafford with a 1-0 win against CSKA Moscow.

Manager Louis van Gaal had earlier been booed for substituting Anthony Martial as his side neared four full games without scoring but, says Goal correspondent Kris Voakes, the match ended up being "a step in the right direction" for the Red Devils.
